Matthew is a managing director and the chief operating officer (COO) of RBC GAM globally and a member of the RBC GAM Leadership Committee. He was appointed COO for RBC GAM International in London, U.K. in 2015, returning to North America in 2017 to assume oversight for North American operations, finance and technology also, and for BlueBay’s operations too in 2020. Matthew had earlier worked as a vice president, Institutional Strategy after working for two years as a senior legal counsel since joining PH&N Institutional in 2007. He began his career in the investment industry in 2002 in the asset management division of a major Canadian bank, where he provided legal counsel to the institutional investment management and mutual fund businesses.
